Introduction
This guide is designed to help you configure your content creation system to work optimally with VideoRaid disk arrays
featuring a SCSI interface. If your system/capture board is not listed in this guide, no special requirements are necessary
for configuration. Check the Compatibility Matrix
for a complete list of qualified content creation systems.
Medea manufactures both RAID 0 and fail-safe VideoRaid models as shown below.
RAID 0 Models
VideoRaid scsi/VideoRaid RT VideoRaid LP
Fail-Safe Models
VideoRaid RTR (blue lights) VideoRaid RTRX VideoRaid RTS (green lights)
Medea’s fail-safe disk array models feature an on-board caching RAID 3 controller with proprietary Multi-Stream
Technology (MST™). MST can be “tweaked” to optimize VideoRaid for your specific application. Basically, MST has
multiple settings that can be modified using a utility that runs under Mac OS and Windows. Fail-safe VideoRaid units are
shipped with a default MST setting of “MST 1”, the proper setting for the majority of content creation applications. Be sure
to check the recommended MST setting for your application when using fail-safe VideoRaid disk arrays.
